Details: Until 2005 part of the larger family owned group of Court Hotels, the Smiths Court, on the seafront, is now the only hotel owned and operated by Robert and Ann Smith and their family. With forty years experience in the largest group of privately owned hotels in Margate, Robert and Ann have decided to concentrate all their efforts into creating the finest boutique hotel in East Kent, with the most attractive rooms.

The Smiths Court is the highest rated (3 star) hotel in Margate.

The new Orangery restaurant, designed to provide a superb dining opportunity in Margate is available for private functions and weddings – both the ceremony & reception. This Margate wedding venue enjoys superb sea views.

The cardio vascular gym is currently being refurbished, adding to the already excellent facilities.

Our 'elegant Victorian' is set on the seafront in Cliftonville, about a mile to the east of Margate. Accommodation
Smith's Court features spacious bedrooms with stunning sea views, as well as fully-equipped executive suites ideal for self catering holidays or long-stay guests. There are forty-five standard and executive rooms, many with sea views or balconies, all en suite with satellite TV, direct dial telephones, tea and coffee making facilities and hospitality tray. There are also fifteen studio, one and two-bedroomed suites with pantry kitchens and dining area - ideal for families, long-stay guests and self-catering breaks.

Disabled facilities include a fully equipped suite and lift access to most rooms.
Grounds include a sheltered sun patio and private car parking.
Our spacious restaurant serves the finest food from the freshest Kentish ingredients.

Self-catering
Our fully equipped suites have been recently refurbished, and sleep between two and ten guests. Each apartment has its own modern kitchen/kitchenette with cooker or split level hob/oven; fridge (most with freezer) and a full range of equipment. Bed linen, towels and electricity are all provided, together with a daily maid-service. A telephone (with intercom and baby listening) is provided in each apartment, and the location within the hotel means you can take advantage of bars, restaurant and lounge facilities, as well as a varied entertainment programme.

The Orangery Restaurant
Once the preserve of the wealthy and the aristocracy in their country houses, The Orangery has had a 21st century makeover. With its soaring 12 foot windows and polished marble floor, The Orangery at Smiths Court was designed by Andrew Sherrington to complete and complement the 'elegant Victorian' it adjoins. Unlike those of previous centuries, however, ours has underfloor heating, disabled access, ample car parking – and views across the Thames Estuary, with "the most beautiful skies in all Europe" according to J.M.W.Turner!
Put all this aside, however, because the most important thing about a restaurant is the food that is cooked, and the way it is served – and in both these, we excel! Civil wedding ceremonies, wedding receptions and Masonic Ladies festivals are among our specialities, but, whatever the occasion, we'll ensure a celebration with style.

We also cater for conferences. Included are:
