Details: The Smithy is a charming cottage in immaculate condition (Listed Grade II). Situated in the Square of the picturesque village of Chilham; a Tudor square surrounded by 15th century timber-framed houses with picturesque views from the square of Chilham Castle. Chilham is on the North Downs National Trail and ancient Pilgrim’s Way to Canterbury in a designated “Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty”. There are excellent walks from the cottage to Kings Wood (1,500 acres) where King Henry VIII hunted deer and to Godmersham Park (visited by Jane Austin). Numerous other walks are nearby in the Stour Valley and Crundale Downs.
