Details: A 4x4 Off road experience near Canterbury!

It does what it says on the tin! Find out exactly what a 4wd vehicle is capable of, you could be in for a surprise! Steep banks, mud, ruts, ridges, ditches, water, trees and a couple of man made obstacles. The instructor gives an impressive demonstration first giving the opportunity for you or your guests to experience just what sort of terrain it’s possible to drive over. An explanation during the demo describes the very different driving techniques as they are being performed which is much more fun than a lengthy classroom briefing!

You or your guests then drive. DON’T WORRY - your safety and ours (!!) is a priority. The instructor will adapt the pace of the course to your own needs. If you are completely new to off road driving and a bit nervous then we take it gently by starting off on milder obstacles and only increase the level of difficulty when you are ready. Nothing is compulsory. On the other hand if you take to it like a duck to water then we will make it as challenging as we dare taking into consideration weather conditions and the vehicle to be used. The emphasis on the experience is very much “Hands On”, you or your guests will have the opportunity to drive for a minimum 75% of the course time booked. All drivers must hold a valid driving licence.

The latest Land Rover Defender 110 08 registration.

A highly modified 4.0litre Jeep Wrangler

A Toyota Land Cruiser Colorado 3.0l diesel Auto

A Genuine Camel Trophy Discovery Tdi (Left Hand Drive) From the 1995 Mundo Maya event.

Something a bit different:
A 6.5l V8 diesel Hummer H1. As far as we know we are the only off road centre in the country to offer this experience.

A Vintage 4x4 Pinzgauer

A Bedford AWD 8 ton ex Army truck

Land Rover based Hybrid V8 petrol trials vehicle

Availability and costs

Please pre book by calling us but off road driving experiences are available most days so please contact us and we are sure we can arrange a mutually convenient time for you during your stay in the area. The cost of the experience covers use of the vehicle, tuition, use of the off road course and refreshments. It can be for sole occupancy of the vehicle or shared with your family or friends. But obviously the more people the less time behind the wheel.
