The £63 million Dockside Outlet Centre is a Grade ll Listed Building and was originally constructed at Woolwich Dockyard in about 1847, but was dismantled and re-erected in Chatham Dockyard in around 1876. The building is historically important, as an early example of the use of cast and wrought iron, most of which can still be viewed. The original designers went on to build the Crystal Palace.

There are two main customer entrances to Dockside, with additional customer access via shop units with external doors. For Parents with buggies or wheelchair users Dockside has two lifts for easy access to the first floor, both located by the main entrances. Additionally there are escalators to assist the less able to ascend or descend between floors. Public Telephones are available on the first floor in the Ozone food court area. ATM Cash machines are available on both levels, the Atrium ground floor and the Ozone food court first floor. Ozone food court and other restaurants/cafes are available on both levels, with the food court benefiting from seating for over 400 customers.
