Details: Rising out of the English Channel to over 200ft high in places, The White Cliffs of Dover are a striking and stirring sight providing superb views towards France.
The Gateway visitor centre introduces people to five miles of coast and countryside with impressive views of the English Channel and Port of Dover. Much of the chalk downland along the clifftops is classified as SSSI with attractive flora and fauna.

Opened in May 1999 the visitor centre contains computer interactives, videos, audio sculptures and stunning photography that take the visitor from prehistoric times to the present day, emphasising the importance of the area. There is also a cafe, serving a range of refreshments and light lunches - specialising in coastal and Kentish fare - and a National Trust shop.

Winter: 1100-1600. Mon-Sun Nov-Feb
No entry charge. Car Parking Charge: £2.00
