Country Parks

Details: Hemsted Forest, mainly comprised of coniferous trees, provides a lovely background for relaxing walks. The site is particularly popular with dog walkers and horse riders.
A walk of 3.8 miles (6km) follows the forest road. The paths are wide but with continual climbs and descents for the first half of the walk, including a slope up from the car park entrance to the start of the walk. The hard stone surface - which generally diminishes in quality after the farmhouse - is coarse in places, with occasional potholes and cross slopes. Hemsted is a working forest, so please obey all warning signs.
