Cranbrook Walk
Known as the capital of the Kentish Weald, Cranbrook was once an important centre for the woollen industry. The village contains many fascinating buildings dating from the 15th and 19th centuries, many displaying the weatherboarding characteristic of traditional Wealden buildings.

The restored Union Mill dates from 1814 and is the largest working windmill in England. This popular route also offers the chance to see the nearby village of Sissinghurst and visit Sissinghurst Castle Gardens.

3 miles (4.8km) approx. 6,000 steps. Allow 2 hours.

Appledore Walk
This walk starts from the charming village of Appledore and follows part of the Saxon Shore Way through gently rolling hills, taking in majestic views of the wild and unique landscape of the Romney Marsh.

The route returns along part of the 28 mile long Royal Military Canal. Built in 1809 as a defensive barrier against Napoleon, it's now used to manage water levels and for flood protection across much of the area.

Chartham Walk
This walk starts along the River Stour following the Stour Valley Walk before heading through some beautiful orchards.

The route then joins up with the North Downs Way winding along woodland paths and passing through NO-Man's Orchard, the first community run orchard in the country, before returning back to Chartham. This route has several short on-road sections and care should be taken crossing busy roads.

Darent Valley Path
Explore the Darent Valley, one of Kent's greatest hidden treasures, on this picturesque riverside route. Lose yourself in the fascinating history, beautiful scenery and delicate habitats found on this peaceful walk. The 19 miles (30.4km) route follows the course of the Darent River as it flows from the banks of the River Thames to the Greensand Hills above Sevenoaks.

The Darent Valley has a rich heritage, and there is evidence of settlers in the region from the Stone Age through to modern times. There is plenty of historical interest to see on the route, from Iron Age forts and Roman villas to Norman castles and stately homes. Located close to the route, Lullingstone Roman Villa is one of the most famous archaeological sites in Britain.
The Darent Valley is home to a variety of habitats that support a range of wildlife.

The river banks and watermeadows attract insects, wildflowers and an array of birds. Large sections of the path pass through the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and benefit from exceptionally attractive scenery.

East Malling Walk
This walk starts in the village of East Malling and follows a largely flat route through orchards and woodland with some fine views of the North Downs along the way. The final part of the walk takes you through East Malling Horticultural Research Station (EMR). Although not normally open to the public, the company carries out research and development for the crops industry and has a long history with the area.
