Details: The museum is housed within the library and has changing displays of objects of local interest. These include a cricket bat, made in Sevenoaks, which is one of the oldest on display anywhere and a C19th brass fireman's helmet from the Sevenoaks 'Readies' volunteer fire brigade. Court robes and souvenirs from the Hardinge family of Penshurst. More items can be seen in cases around the library: for example fossils, archaeology and a Second World War embroidery made by evacuees from London and local schoolchildren. There is also a contemporary art gallery, local studies library and cafe space. There are contemporary art pieces around the building and museum cases in the library in addition to the museum.

There are family trails and quizzes in the museum and discovery boxes of objects that can be handled by visitors.
