Details: Positioned as one of Kent’s leading places to dine, this independent and family run restaurant in Rainham underpin service excellence and delight in exceeding customer expectations. Bringing a slightly west end feel to Medway, they offer something different from others in the area. Taking inspiration from traditional English dishes, you will receive contemporary cuisine with a culinary twist. Adopting a distinctive approach to use of ingredients, each menu succeeds in balancing traditional recipes with modern presentation, bringing old dishes into the 21st century. While dining you are surrounded by historical and period charm. The unique 17th century building offers a rustic setting, while décor provides a good balance of old and new. Everything you experience from the time you enter the restaurant, including service, cutlery, plates, flavours in your meal, are all aimed at maintaining an eclectic yet inviting ambience.

All ingredients are selected and prepared with you in mind. Most people eat with their eyes and build expectations about a dish based on food presentation. With this in mind, The Barn wants you to go away content and rewards anticipation with flavour.

Using innovative and modern approaches to presentation and some less well-known English ingredients, traditional dishes like a rump of lamb with a pea and mint risotto, parcel of marinated shoulder of lamb and an apple cider infused dressing are modified to ensure you receive something special.
