Details: Welcome to The Haxted Mill in Edenbridge which is situated in the beautiful Eden Valley. This award winning restaurant, with its beamed dining room in winter and wonderful candlelit terrace overlooking the mill race & pond for dining Alfresco in the summer, is well worth a visit.

Watch the sun go down over the fields, while sipping on a glass of well chilled Premier Cru Chablis or Puligny Montrachet, eating the finest Fruits de Mer this side of the English Channel. Combine this with a visit to Lingfield Park Racecourse and you have the makings of a perfect day out.

The Haxted Mill is the perfect place for private parties, be it a small wedding, a corporate lunch or dinner, or simply a group of friends celebrating a special birthday.

Our head chef will be happy to discuss your menu requirements to suit all your needs. We can also arrange any live music you require from live jazz to classical.

The Haxted Mill is ideally suited for small wedding receptions with its intimate dining room seating up to fifty people or, weather permitting, on our private terrace overlooking the Millpond. Our team of dedicated people are here to ensure that your Wedding Day is a memorable one for all the right reasons

Alfresco Dining at Haxted Mill
From May to the end of September, weather permitting, during the summer months our dining room moves outside overlooking the millponds for Lunch & Dinner. Our terraces are waiter-served, candlelit at night, and if necessary, should the evening cool before you have finished your dinner, warm shawls will be provided for your use. Our menu reflects the feel of summer and alfresco eating with light lunches, Fruits De Mer, Lobsters, Crabs, Langoustines and Prawns. During the summer there is Jazz at The Mill on Sundays & Bank Holiday Mondays from 12.30pm to 4.00pm. Please call for dates and availability.

The History of Haxted Water Mill
The western half of the double frontage Mill was built about 1580 on the early 14th century foundations, while the eastern half was added in 1794. One can notice the change from hand-axed oak to sawn pitch-pine, the woods available at the time. The first record appears in the will of Sir Reginald de Cobham dated 1361. Always a corn mill it ground flour up to 1919 and then, like most other wind and watermills, was reduced to grinding meal for local farmers. The mill is an interesting place to visit as it shows the workings of a watermill complete with video display and history of Haxted Mill.
